- The Home Beautiful magazine issue of 1st February 1940 contains a wonderful 6 page article on 'Sweeneys', which is scanned here. Peter Cuffley has a copy of the original magazine issue.

- In June 2014, Heritage Advisor Dr. Roger Luebbers produced a comprehensive report to Parks Victoria on Major Newman's Pontville homestead in Templestowe, Victoria, with a comparative study of Sweeney's Culla Hill. The report details his extensive fabric analysis and archaeological investigations.
